Description An armoured division of the British Army during WW2 created in 1941 from elements of the Guards units, the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, Scots Guards, Irish Guards, Welsh Guards, and the Household Cavalry. It was active in Operation Goodwood and Operation Bluecoat as part of VIII Corps. As part of XXX Corps it was active in Brussels, Operation Market Garden, Ardennes, Operation Veritable and the advance through Germany.
