Organisation: Durham Light Infantry
Name Durham Light Infantry
Description A light infantry regiment of the British Army formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 68th (Durham) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry) and the 106th Regiment of Foot (Bombay Light Infantry). It served in the Second Boer War, WW1, WW2, the Korean War and the Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation. In 1968, the regiment was amalgamated with the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry, the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and the King's Shropshire Light Infantry.
