Description A Royal Air Force officer who was appointed Officer Commanding of No. 601 Squadron, Auxiliary Air Force and then commanded No. 110 Army Co-operation Wing based at RAF Ringway. In WW2 he commanded the Central Landing Establishment based at RAF Ringway tasked with developing airborne troops. In 1942, he was appointed Air Officer Commanding No. 38 Wing and later died in the post-crash fire when a Lockheed Hudson force-landed after takeoff from RAF St Eval.
