Name Strange, Louis Arbon
Description An English aviator who was an aerial combat and bombing pioneer. In WW1 he established No. 1 School of Air Gunnery, formed No. 2 School of Air Gunnery, was Commandant at the Central Flying School and commanded the newly formed 80th Wing. In WW2 he returned as a pilot officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and was appointed commanding officer of the newly created Central Landing School. He was later appointed as commanding officer of the Merchant Ship Fighter Unit and Wing Commander Operations at No. 46 Group where he assisted in the planning for Operation Overlord.
