Name Nettleton, John Dering
Description A Royal Air Force officer who was awarded the Victoria Cross in WW2 for his role for leading a raid on a U-boat engine plant in Augsburg on 17 April 1942. Commissioned in Dec 1938, he then served with Nos. 207, 98 and 185 Squadrons before joining No. 44 Squadron. He lost his life when flying back from a later raid against Turin in northern Italy.
