Description An American politician and Army general who served as the 34th President of the United States from 1953 until 1961. During WW2 he served as a five-star general and as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe. He planned and supervised Operation Torch in 1942–43, the invasion of North Africa and the invasion of France and Germany in 1944–45.
