Description A Royal Navy WW2 submarine ace and one of the most successful western navy submariners with the sinking of 16 enemy vessels. He received the Victoria Cross for the sinking of the heavily defended transport SS Conte Rosso without a working Asdic. His submarine HMS Upholder was missing in action in April 1942.
