Description A British admiral of WW2 who was Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean Fleet and led forces in the attack on Taranto and the Battle of Cape Matapan. He controlled the defence of the Mediterranean supply lines and also directed support for the major Allied landings in the Western Mediterranean. In 1943, Cunningham was promoted to First Sea Lord.
