He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his command of the Caen Canal bridge's defence on 6 June. After WW2 he served in the Far East, Palestine and Malaya before returning as Regimental Colonel and Commander of Depot The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces from 1952 to 1955. |
