Name Howard, Reginald John
Description A British Army officer who become a regimental sergeant major in the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry and later commissioned officer in command of 'D' Company, 2nd Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in 1940. He led a glider-borne assault that captured the Caen canal and Orne river bridges as part of the D-Day landings during WW2, commanding the company until Sep 1944. His war service was ended after a car accident in Nov 1944.
