Name Wallwork, James Harley
Description A British Army Officer who having been commissioned into the infantry was accepted for training in the newly formed Glider Pilot Regiment in 1942. He took part in the assault to capture the Ponte Grande Bridge in Sicily and was the pilot of the first Horsa glider to land at Pegasus Bridge in the early hours of D-Day beginning the Normandy landings. He also took part in Arnhem and the Rhine Crossings, one of only a very few pilots from the Glider Pilot Regiment to take part in all four major mass glider assaults.
