Description A British Army officer who saw service during WW2 commanding the 3rd Parachute Battalion in North Africa and the 7th Parachute Battalion in Normandy, Belgium, and Germany. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his command of the Caen Canal bridge's defence on 6 June. After WW2 he served in the Far East, Palestine and Malaya before returning as Regimental Colonel and Commander of Depot The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces from 1952 to 1955.
