Description A British infantry corps during WW1 and WW2 originally formed in France on 15 November 1915. On 1 January 1941, the Western Desert Force was redesignated 'XIII Corps' Eighth Army, during Operation Compass. The Corps remained part of the Eighth Army throughout the rest of the North African Campaign and in further campaigns.
