| Description | A line infantry infantry regiment of the British Army, which was formed by the amalgamation of the 34th (Cumberland) Regiment of Foot and the 55th (Westmorland) Regiment of Foot. They saw action in the BEF in Europe from 1939-1940, in the invasion of Sicily, in Operation Market Garden, in British India, Ceylon and the Burma Campaign. |
