This book provides a blow by blow description of the Battle of the River Plate in which the British cruisers 'Ajax', 'Achilles' and 'Exeter' tracked and fought the german Pocket Battleship the 'Admiral Graf Spee' across the Atlantic until it eventually scuttled itself in the estuary of the River Plate. This was an early engagement in the war during Dec 1939.
