The AMERICAN SOLDIER, like the British, is a civilian in uniform, not a professional fighting man. This pamphlet sets out to give the minimum background information on which an understanding of these soldiers needs to be based and is accompanied by eight pages of photographs illustrating various activities of the U.S. Army as well as some of the aircraft and other equipment which it has introduced to this country.
